"Fashion at the speed of life"

Back on january 2nd, we made several predictions about fall 2012 trends. We were elated to find out that without any previous knowledge; several predictions came true! Here is a recap of what was predicted:

* Fur hats
* Lace accents: Subdue or provocative
* Neon colors and bright colors in general
* A new neutral: camel, red or navy blue

The Fur trend

Marc jacobs fall 2012

We were elated when we actually saw fur hats this fall starting with the large bright furs from Marc jacobs (as above) and more subdue at Rachel Zoe which used basic black fur for an elegant sophisicated look. Fur was also seen in stoles and trimming in other shows such as Peter Som and Micheal Kors. Fur handbags were rarely seen but they seemed not to be the focus in past years until late August.

Jill Stuart took the lace trend provacative and then subdued it with a solid overlay. Bregazzi and Preen were more provactive with lace shirts (and braless models) and embroidered accents. Colored lace (especially blue) was a welcome surprise that I did not predict and the bead accents seen in Shoji presented an inspirational feeling.

Bright colors

We were not surprise to see bright colors in the fall palette and the neon green was one of our predictions. Orange and turqouise hues are unexpected in fall trends and we guessed earlier that the bleakness of the economy called for some cheer.

The new netural

The new nuetral was proclaimed to be burgundy which is a form of red but I can’t really claim this prediction. We can see what other neutrals pop up this season.
