"Fashion at the speed of life"

It’s Halloween and you were just asked to go to a Halloween party!! What do you do?We have already noticed that companies have already marked down there costumes and what is left dangling off the shelves are ugly mask, dried makeup and novelty accessories that are useless with a matching custom. So here are some ideas of using the past trends we saw that might be useful in putting together a imaginative and original costume:

Orange was the color this summer so going to the party as a pumpkin couldn’t be more simpler. A green headband will finish the look.  The orange dress you decide to wear should be based on your style:

Classic/Casual: Go for a straight dress then add a belt (it doesn’t have to be green: black, or brown will work as well).

Romance/Vintage: Try an orange dress that flairs out at the waist and pair with bright orange flats.

Punk/Rock: Pair a form fitting orange dress with motorcycle boots and a studded belt.

Glam:  A short above knee dress with high heels or high heel boots.

Furry Animal

With all the love of fur this season and previous seasons, we all have a fur vest, jacket or coat in our closet. What furry animal do you choose is based on your own personal style:

Classic/Causal: Go for the cat which is great for your sable-like fur jackets. Get cat ears from Charlotte Russe or Hot topic.

Romance/Vintage: Puppies are cute! Paint you nose black and bend down or sew cat ears to make puppy ears.

Punk/Rock: My sister has a wonderful bear hat that would go great with the fur vest I sewed her. For others, a rounded ear head band will do as well.

Glam: Since you love exotic prints (think leopard or cheetah) go has a big cat depending on the print on the fur and add fur topped boots (heeled of course).

The floral trend is so hot right now (in the mortal words from “Zoolander”) and you can add a flower headband to top it off.  Depending on your style, the garden will be probably at different stages of the day. Of course, the stages of the day depend on the background color  so for realism, stay away from pink or red backgrounds from yester-year.

I hope these ideas help you have a fashionable Halloween!!!
