Shoe Porn!!:Spring Edition 2015:Iron Fist

I end my Spring shoe guide with a brand I am obsessed with! I own their clothes and handbags as well as their kick ass shoes! Iron Fist wascstarted by two skaters in 2001 and since then the brand has hired many skaters and artists to create their one of a kind prints. They create well made shoes with a punk twist and the price is so afforable with no shoe priced over $80!!

Summer jewerly Trends for every style

The summer just around the corner and has we gear up our tribal clothes, we all start to wonder, how do we accessorize all this tribal without looking like we stepped out of the jungle? Well, tribal jewelry may be in vogue, other trends are also in the spotlight. So here are some jewelry trends that won’t clash nor exaggerate those tribal clothes: neon crystal, raw stones and geometric shapes.

Neon lights

Crystal Neon Pop

This trend is versatile with crystal accents added to a variety of materials including friendship bracelets, metal, and of course, in stand alone format. Here is a breakdown of the look in every style:

Punk/rock: Stick to the metal and rhinestone for an edge. Look for that pop of neon in yellow but pink may be a little too much. (unless you are into dark romance)

Classic/Casual: We love the rope accents with this trend. Classic stick to thick rope while casual should try the friendship bracelet merge.

Vintage/Romance/Glam: Go full rhinestone!! Vintage should try large rhinestone combinations, romance should have a single rhinestone center and Glam should try to look for rhinestone chain and rhinestone cluster combinations.

Raw stones

Raw stones

Sliced Agates are in the driver’s seat of this trend because they can be easily dyed a rainbow of colors. However, on the higher end of the cost spectrum, raw stones include turquoise, amethyst and even emeralds are used. here is a breakdown of the look in every style:

Punk/rock: Stick to raw stones with metal accents, cut outs within the metal surrounding the stone is a nice update to full metal pieces.

Classic/Causal: Raw stones encrusted in metal or just raw stones on chain both work but necklaces should be a preference.

Vintage/Glam: Adding crystal accents to raw stones gives it an old Hollywood glam. This feature is best seen in rings.

Romance: You can try this look in earrings since the lack of polish could be overwhelming.

Geometric Shapes

Geometric Shapes

Nothing says tribal more then triangles and other pointy shapes combined into jewelry so pairing this trend with tribal is not recommended. Actually, this trend should be worn in lieu of tribal clothing especially if you do not plan to add the trend to your yearly wardrobe rotation.

Punk/Rock: Metal cutouts are your friends!!

Classic/casual: Look for geometric shapes with few accents.

Vintage/glam: Look for pieces with rhinestones in geometric shapes. It may be easier to get pieces with metal and crystal accents.

Romance: Bright colored geometric jewelry are perfect especially in pastel colors.

Spring 2013 makeup trend Part 2

This spring, it is all about accenting your best features and with glam and punk views there is no exception!! The face will remain nude for every look this fall except blush passion! So here are some tips to get you going in the right direction!

For flawless looking skin:

  • start with a sunblock
  • add a serum or primer
  • Add a foundation
  • finish with a powder ( because I am of mocha skin, I use a translucent powder to finish so foundation needs to match)

If your skin has dark spots, add a concealer after you apply the serum or primer and let try.

Punk/Rock

Eyeliner madness

Blue and black eyeliner is having a moment and just like the other trends, the main focus is the eyes while the face remains matte. For rockers, use black and for punks, wear the blue.

For a more daring look: Try green eyeliner or eyeshadow.

Glam

Blue and Green eyeshadow Spring 2013 trend

Green and blue eyeshadow is great and in so many colors and styles, it can be very versatile!! Use glitter shades for night and more matte shades for morning and afternoon.

For daring looks: Try to combine the blush look with the red lips trend!!

What makes it punk?
The prints in the shirt and the rounded collar are traditional punk staples as well as a nodded towards color as seen in the 2b bebe jeans which are priced at just $20.00!! We added a purchased top here but for more traditional punk, try buying a white t-shirt and embellishing it. Band t-shirts are also acceptable provided you actually listen to the band and you cut the tee to your own liking. The slogan here “we love our own tees and tops” was evented for punks who create unique clothing items.

We also added Iron Fist staples with shoes and handbags found at punk.com at 26 and 45 dollars respectively.

What makes it casual?

Tee-shirts and jeans are in every causal girl’s closet as well as flat shoes or sneakers. The t-shirt from anthropologie.com is 45 dollars!

Combined?

Create a punk look that is playful and relaxing!!

Style File: Punk Romance

Sometimes finding your own style can be difficult when you migrate between trends so we are here to help! By combining multiple styles, you can create a new style and so we focus on combing pink and romance. We created this set to showcase how to combine punk and romance. Here is the breakdown:

Romance

Tulle skirts are traditional romance but by adding touches of mismatch fabrics and elastic band waist, we add punk elements of comfort and the unfinished look. The elements also work in color. We also added the romance touch of the heart bag and the chain handle makes it punk.

Punk

The shirt and shoes are primarily punk with the mismatch characters of the shirt with different sleeves, uneven collar and of course the snitch feature that makes the shirt shorter.  We also took the love of low heeled shoes from both styles and added studs to increase the punk style.

Combined?

Add kitschy romance staples like hearts and punk accessories like the zombie necklace creating a nice mix of punk of romance. Add flaring bottoms for romance and mismatch tops typical to punk and you have this great combination.
